Dorset County Council have finally issued the Minerals Site Allocations Document - Discussion Paper for consultation and comment. RAGE in The Piddle - Residents Against Gravel Extraction in the Piddle Valley This site is to campaign and obtain support for the protection of the Piddle Valley in Dorset between Bere Regis and Hyde adjacent to the Wareham Forest. The area consisting of Phillios and Lower Stockley Farms (click here to see map) plus parts of Wareham Forest are under threat from gravel companies who wish to ruin the beautiful area and destroy the wildlife. See below the effect gravel extraction has on the countryside. We need your support to protect this beautiful environment. Not only is the gravel company planning to decimate the beautiful Piddle Valley, it is also planning to ruin Wareham Forest by building a road through Wareham Forest to take dozens of lorries from Hyde through to the Cold Harbour Road every day. Parts of Wareham Forest will be cut off by this road and access will not be allowed. Which would you prefer to see in Wareham Forest. This:-
